Today’s launch of AST SpaceMobile’s BlueBird 7 satellite tv for pc aboard Blue Origin’s reusable New Glenn rocket was a partial success. The New Glenn touched down on its touchdown pad with out incident, making it the second launch and landing for the primary stage booster, and formally giving Jeff Bezos a reusable launch automobile. Sadly for AST SpaceMobile, the mission was much less profitable. Its cell-tower-in-space was delivered to a decrease orbit than anticipated by the second stage of the launch automobile, rendering it functionally ineffective.
Whereas the satellite tv for pc separated from the launch automobile and powered on, the altitude is simply too low to maintain operations with its on-board thruster expertise and can de-orbited.
