Timothy Busfield Charged with Child Sex Abuse


Timothy Busfield is facing charges of sexual abuse involving two underaged boys.

The actor, best known for his roles in The West Wing, Field of Dreamsand Revenge of the Nerdsis charged with child abuse and two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor under the age of 13 stemming from alleged misconduct that took place on the set of the TV series The Cleaning Ladyaccording to TMZ.

According to an Albuquerque, New Mexico, police affidavit (via Variety), the case involves twin brothers beginning when they were seven years old and allegations of inappropriate touching.

Busfield spoke to detectives in November and was asked if he had “any physical contact” with the accusers, specifically whether he had picked them up and tickled them. “Timothy said it was highly likely that he would have,” adding that the set was a “playful environment.” He then said that the boys’ parents would have been around and it would not be “weird,” but he later backtracked and said he did not recall picking the boys up. “I don’t remember those boys,” he stated. “No, I don’t. I don’t actually, I don’t remember it, if it happened. I don’t remember overtly tickling the boys ever, but it wouldn’t be uncommon for me.”

Warner Bros. apparently conducted its own investigation into Busfield in 2025 after SAG-AFTRA received an anonymous complaint regarding a separate incident allegedly involving a different underaged boy. However, an outside investigator hired by Warner Bros. was unable to substantiate that claim.
