If you happen to’ve been following my reporting on the Trump cellphone, you’ll know that Trump Cell doesn’t precisely maintain open traces of communication with the media. That doesn’t look to be altering, with the corporate not working with its long-term media relations agency.
Poplar Group has represented Trump Cell since at the very least final June, when the corporate’s founding associate Chris Walker gave a press release to USA Todayinsisting on the time that “T1 telephones are proudly being made in America.” That, in fact, is just not true, which even Trump Mobile now admits.
I’ve spoken to Walker a couple of instances, and he provided to expedite the supply of The Verge’s two T1 Cellphone orders, although we’re nonetheless ready. This week, he instructed me that his staff “is just not helping Trump Cell any additional.” He didn’t know if the corporate had retained a brand new PR agency in Poplar’s place.
Maybe with the cellphone now launched, the corporate doesn’t assume it must put up with the press any longer.
