Val-de-Marne: A father sentenced to life imprisonment for the murders of three little girls


It is the epilogue of a terrible tragedy. The assize court of Val-de-Marne sentenced Friday to life imprisonment man convicted of killing his three daughters in November 2023. The sentence carries a security period of 22 years. According to the prosecution, the convict, aged 44, will not appeal this decision.

During the hearing, the accused admitted the facts, also admitting domestic violencewhile denying having hit one of his daughters before the tragedy. “A normal man doesn’t do that,” he declared, then recalling having considered suicide before going to Dieppe. However, he maintained: “I know that I will be heavily condemned but I do not want anyone to put a label on me. My daughter, I’ve never touched it.”

The mother’s word heard

The facts date back to a weekend in November 2023, when he had custody of his three children. In the night he has them druggedsuffocated the youngest, tried to do the same to the other two, before killing them using a kitchen knife. A few months earlier, his wife had initiated proceedings for divorcea situation that he said he could not stand, particularly the idea that his children could be raised by another man.

At the end of the verdict, one of the civil party’s lawyers welcomed “a decision which recognizes the words of the mother victim and her three daughters victims of violence vicarious”, adding that it was also “a decision which recognizes the seriousness of the facts”. The children’s mother, for her part, described repeated violence during their life together in court, asserting: “He attacked my daughters because he knew very well that if he attacked me, I would defend myself.”
