Rockstar Video games says hack may have ‘no influence’

Rockstar confirmed on Saturday that a few of its knowledge was compromised in a breach of a third-party supplier. The group ShinyHunters claimed accountability, saying it had gained entry to the corporate’s Snowflake situations (a cloud-hosting supplier in style with enterprise clients) through Anodot, a cost-monitoring and analytics service. The group is demanding a ransom by April 14th, or it is going to leak the information it has stolen.

In a press release offered to My city, the corporate stated that the compromised knowledge was restricted in scope and “this incident has no influence on our group or our gamers.”

It’s unclear precisely which knowledge was compromised, but it surely seems the hack targeted corporate data somewhat than participant data. It’s potential that monetary data, advertising knowledge, or contracts with corporations like Sony and Microsoft might be included within the haul.

This isn’t the primary time Rockstar has been the sufferer of a high-profile hack. In 2022, a huge cache of videos from GTA VI had been leaked on-line by Fall.
